Beginning in 1908, an immigrant ship heading for a coffee plantation in Brazil set sail from the port of Kobe, and many immigrants left until 1971.
Because of this connection, the Brazilian national tree "Ipe" is planted in Koikawa-suji, and it blooms with beautiful yellow flowers in spring.
2023 is 115 years since the first immigrants set sail. Exchanges between Japan and Brazil continue through the Nikkei community.
This color is based on the flower of Brazil's national tree "Ipe".
